ATMS was introduced as an integrated Traffic management and Recue console. The traffic management and recue console , under the leadership of the ATMS control center, is intended to introduce an automated check – list based approach to ensure an integrated and efficient service delivery to the various stakeholders to prevent accident and in case the accident does happen, then timely coordinated action in rescuing accident victims and early restoration of traffic . Below are the mottos of ATMS. The Advance Traffic management system (ATMS) integrated solution of multiple technologies to improve the flow of vehicle traffic improve safety and minimize the road accident and highways using some highly advanced equipment like ECB,VMS, ATCC, MET Sets. Real time traffic data from a traffic detection system flows into a Traffic controls (TCC) where it is integrated and processed and may result in action (e.g. traffic Control Center (TCC) where it is integrated and processed and may result in action (e.g. traffic routing ,VMS message ) with the goal of improving flows of traffic and minimizing losses . We termed this whole product as Traffic view.

Functions and operations of ATMS are centrally managed from the Control Centre Room. The operator present in the Control Room keeps the track of all activities taking place on the Highway. All the above-mentioned components of ATMS are depicted on the GUI showing their status as active or inactive. All these components can be connected through Fiber Optic Cable or GSM. This entire system together brings out to be a very intelligent and supportive system for the users thus meeting the required resources on the highway. It’s a real-time decision support system for traffic operator and records and solves the contingency situation.
